How does an Optical Microscope work?
In respect to optical terminology (refraction, reflection etc.), how does a microscope work? In other words, why do the objects appear enlarged through the lenses?

A simple answer will do, then I can research it further.

Ugh, I forgot grade 10 science. I believe it's because of the lenses. Light passes through the object, and is then magnified by the lenses. The lenses are concave? I'm not sure. I just remember that the lenses are responsible for refracting the light passing through the specimen, which then magnifies the image.

This is something you should easily be able to Google.
